The Sauber Junior Team is making its debut in the newly-formed FIA Formula 3 Championship this season.

Introduced to give aspiring drivers a suitable progression step between the F4 and F2 categories, the new-for-2019 F3 series is an exciting addition to the Grand Prix weekend and runs alongside F2 and F1 on eight occasions.

Our drivers Fabio Scherer and Lirim Zendeli have accumulated a wealth of junior single-seater experience and make for one of the most exciting pairings on the F3 grid.

Lirim was so dominant in F4 during the 2018 season that he won the ADAC title with one event and three races to spare.


The reigning German F4 Champion moves up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship after a dominant season of racing in 2018 with the US – CHRS squad.

The German youngster swept all before him in the F4 category last term, scoring 10 wins, three podiums and 8 pole positions. A naturally gifted racer, Lirim is expected to be one of the F3 pace setters this term.


Fabio was one of the standout performers when he made his F3 category debut at the tricky Pau street circuit in 2018.


The talented Swiss driver joins the Sauber Junior Team programme after recording success in the European Formula 3 series during 2018.

A driver that possesses lots of natural talent and speed, Fabio is a former race winner in the Formula 4 category. His target is to become the first Swiss driver to race in F1 with a team that is based in his homeland.


Raoul arrives in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with strong momentum, having won the F3 Asia title in 2018.


The experienced racer joins the Sauber Junior Team’s F3 line-up after winning the F3 Asian Championship in 2018.

He moved into single-seater racing in 2013 and has recorded success as he’s progressed through the Formula 4 and Formula 3 ranks. Became a GP3 race winner during a part-programme in 2017, before moving on to win the F3 Asian title a year later.
